The Maker Educator Convening is an annual gathering of maker education practitioners from all over the world, organized by Maker Ed. This year, the event will take place in Pittsburgh, PA, in collaboration with MuseumLab at Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. We are committed to further exploring last year’s themes—equity, accessibility, and sustainability in maker education—over two full days of sharing, collaboration, and delicious food. Robert Zacharias

Robert Zacharias currently teaches creative electronics courses for the IDeATe Network at Carnegie Mellon University and manages IDeATe’s Physical Computing Lab. He holds a Master's in Tangible Interaction Design from CMU. Previously, he was a hands-on educator in museums and out-of-school programs in a variety of settings including the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh and Iridescent in New York City. He loves riding bikes up and down Pittsburgh's hills year round—the worse the weather, the more fun he has!
