Leilani Roser
MIT Edgerton Center Maker Educator
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Leilani Roser began her life in STEM as a field research assistant while earning her BS in Biological Sciences at UC Davis. Pipetting drugs onto cells proved less thrilling than trapping and tracking wild mammals, so she became a teacher. Leilani received her MEd in Science Education from UMass Boston and has now worked in STEM education as a teacher and consultant since 2009, including 3 years teaching Biology in Boston Public Schools.
On the K12 Maker Team Edgerton Center, she works with Diane Brancazio as a teacher coach, curriculum writer, Maker Methodology developer, and unrepentant wood hoarder. Off-duty, she can be found teaching drums and electronics to the next generation of musicians and gearheads at Girls Rock Campaign Boston.
