The Maker Educator Convening is an annual gathering of maker education practitioners from all over the world, organized by Maker Ed. This year, the event will take place in Pittsburgh, PA, in collaboration with MuseumLab at Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. We are committed to further exploring last year’s themes—equity, accessibility, and sustainability in maker education—over two full days of sharing, collaboration, and delicious food. Carina Kooiman

Children's Museum of Pittsburgh
Carina Kooiman is the Art Studio Manager for the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. There, she manages the Art Studio, designing exhibits, developing programs, facilitating art-making, and working with guest artists. Most recently she designed “Move Along & Change Your Place” an exhibit about finding ideas, inspired by the author and illustrator Hervé Tullet. Additionally, she is a member of Union Project’s ceramics cooperative, a studio in which she works as both a ceramic artist and as an educator. Carina is a graduate of Calvin College.
